IN MEMORY OF LOVED ONES: Our 10:30 a.m. Mass on Sunday 17th December will be celebrated in memory of family members, from within and outside of our parish, who have died during the year. As a Christian community we have entrusted our loved ones to God, but they will be very much in our thoughts and hearts this Christmas. The Pastoral Council would like to put together a pictorial tribute in memory of loved ones who passed during the year. If you wish to have someone remembered at this mass, and over Christmas, please drop his or her photo into the sacristy or parish office letter box a.s.a.p. and kindly note the name and date of death on the back. It will be helpful also if you include your own name and contact number for return of photos.

SHINE A LIGHT IN MEMORY OF A LOVED ONE:  this Christmas the Pastoral Council, supported by the CE Scheme, plan on installing Remembrance Lighting in the vicinity of our church. Remembrance lighting consists of special bulbs on which the names of the people being remembered are written by their loved ones. The bulbs will be available for purchase from the Parish Office and from local shopkeepers – with thanks for their cooperation - from Nov 21st and will cost €4 each. The pastoral council intends to reinstall the remembrance lighting for future Christmases, therefore the bulbs would need to be stored carefully by you after Christmas. We hope that by shining a light in memory of our loved ones this Christmas, that each of us will be touched and supported throughout this holy season by the blessings that they always wished upon us in life.

DEACON ORDAINATION;    Martin Shanahan will be ordained as a deacon for the Diocese of Killaloe by Bishop Fintan Monahan in the Cathedral Ennis, this Sunday 26th November. Martin is a native of Quilty in the parish of Kilmurry Ibrickane and worked for over thirty years with the ESB. His wife, Margaret Mary died in 2011 and he has one son Eoin who is currently a third level student. He entered Maynooth to study for the priesthood in the Diocese of Killaloe in 2015. As Martin is ordained a deacon, he enters into the final stage in his preparations for his Priestly Ordination next summer. Please keep him and his family in your prayers this weekend.
